It seems that almost everyone cannot get enough of the musical talent of the amazingly gifted George Ezra.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter shot to the top of the album charts back in April with his second album ‘Staying At Tamara’s’. He then followed up with a string of sold-out dates across the country. There is definitely a substantial level of interest for this artist at the moment.
The show started with ‘Cassy O’ from his 2014 album ‘Wanted on Voyage’. From there on we were treated to a parade of trumpet solos, flashing lights and rising, feel-good melodies. The event venue was perfect as it was part of the Biology Commission’s Forest Live concert series and located within the heart of Pickering’s lovely Dalby Forest.
George told the crowd the story of how he spent a month in Barcelona writing his new album ‘Staying At Tamara’s. He revealed snippets of his time there spent writing his hits like ‘Pretty Shining People’ that thrilled the crowd. Throughout the performance, he charmed everyone, showing the assurance of an artist comfortable with his music and genuinely delighted to be performing in front of so many fans.
The good mood and Ezra’s bright smile are infectious. Behind the schoolboy charm, there’s real depth and maturity inside his spectacular baritone. The likes of ‘Blame It On Me’, ‘Listen To The Man’ went down well with everyone singing along.
The outstanding song of the night was ‘Budapest’.
Overall an amazing performance leaving the crowd wanting more.
Darlo Radio recommends going to see George Ezra you will not be disappointed. North East fans from Darlington, Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas will have the chance to see him live at the O2 Arena in Newcastle on 8th November this year.
