Support Act

On first was the support artist David Neil Crabtree. With his solo acoustic set he set about a very accomplished performance of his music. Songs included his recent EP release ‘Girl Named Whiskey’ whose contagious melodic sound had fans singing along with the chorus. An artist to watch and a new album called ‘Stepping Stone’ due for release very soon.

Hayley McKay and her Band

With the standard set, Hayley McKay with her band took to the stage and did not disappoint. Dressed in a spectacular gold shimmering dress she was a star shining brightly not only physically on stage but in the musical sense as well. What happened next was a professionally executed performance from an artist whose star is definitely rising. The night was centered around her new self titled album release and she sold every song like a true professional, her presence, singing and engagement with the audience holding everyone spellbound.

First Set

The first set had an acoustic flavour to it. Some of the highlights included ‘Ghosted’ and ‘The Sun’. An acoustic version of the Lindisfarne hit ‘Run For Home’ really got the crowd into a sing-a-long mood. Finishing off the first set, Hayley treated the crowd to her version of Songbird which showed the wonderful intensity and range of her amazing voice.

Second Set

The second set took on a more rocking feel, showing the versatility of this artist as the great songs just kept coming. Hayley’s well known hit ‘The Bottom Of My Heart’ proving a favourite with everyone and ‘Catching Fire’ also went down well with the audience.

What did we think?
